The Village of Avonwood courteously invites all gentles to travel to the center of our fair kingdom for a day of fellowship, fine food, and fierce combat to determine the heirs to their Majesties Yngvar II and Luce II.

Feast Information

Our feast is being prepared by a  Le Corden Bleu educated professional catering chef. It has been developed to accommodate a wide range of diets, with food allergies in mind.  Please note if you have severe allergies that it is being prepared in a multi-use kitchen, so cross-contamination is possible.    Please contact the event steward with any questions or requests.

First Remove
Various pickled vegetables
Beef Pate – Beef liver, onion powder, oil, cider vinegar, garlic, rosemary, thyme, salt, pepper
Cheese Spread – Various cheeses blended with white wine, garlic, heavy cream.

Second Remove (Underlined ingredients are possible allergens)
Roast Stuffed Chicken – Chicken, spinach, mushrooms, egg, garlic, rosemary, sage, olive oil, salt, pepper
Spiced Roasted Cauliflower – Cauliflower, oil, turmeric, cumin, salt
Salad of Fresh Greens – Leafy greens with vinaigrette dressing
Saffron Rice – Rice seasoned with saffron
Vegetarian Option: Hearty Lentil Stew – Vegetable Broth, lentils, celery, carrots, garlic, onion powder, bay leaf, turmeric, oregano, cumin, salt, black pepper
Please notify us ahead of time if you desire the vegetarian option so we can prepare the right amount.

Third Remove
Beef with Pevorade Sauce (on the side) – Beef, red wine, cinnamon, cloves, mace, pepper, red wine vinegar, water, garlic, ginger, ThickenThin not/Starch
Leeks in Mustard Vinaigrette – Leeks, bay leaf, parsley, thyme, carrot, celery, lemon juice, garlic, salt, pepper, mustard, cider vinegar, olive oil
Spinach Quiche – Eggs, flour (contains gluten), spinach, cheese, salt, butter, water, heavy cream, nutmeg, salt, pepper

Fourth Remove (Underlined ingredients are possible allergens)
Chardewardon (Pear Custard) – pears, white wine, sugar, egg yolks, cinnamon, ginger
Apple Fritters – Apples, flour, cinnamon, eggs, sugar
Fruit or Cheese – with prior arrangement for those with allergies or sugar restrictions

Bread (gluten free on request) on the table throughout

First Time Attendees

If you are attending one of events for the first time we ask that you wear medieval (pre-16th century) style clothing.  If you do not have any let us know by contacting and we will arrange something for you.  If you would like to join us for feast please bring a plate, bowl, cup, and utensils, or contact us to arrange for some loaner feast gear.


Marshall has several hotels and motels, information for which has been provided below.  Also a limited amount of crash space is available in the area.  Contact Brigitta (Mary Fitzgerald) to arrange crash space:

A group discount has been arranged at the Ramada Inn (#2 on map).  Rates are $89 for a king single or $99 for a queen double. Rate includes a full hot breakfast buffet in the restaurant. Reservations can be made by calling (507)-532-3221 and requesting the SCA rate. Reservations must be made by April 11, 2018 to get these rates.
